The terms that apply when you refer another family to ScreenTasker, or redeem a referral code yourself.
Last updated: 8 October 2026
ScreenTasker's referral program lets an existing subscribed family (the "referrer") share a referral code with another family (the "referee"). If the referee enters that code within 14 days of creating their family, both families can receive a free 1 calendar month extension to their current ScreenTasker subscription. These terms explain exactly how that works, and are part of, and should be read alongside, our Privacy Policy.
Both the referrer and the referee receive the same benefit: a free 1 calendar month extension to their own current ScreenTasker subscription. This is delivered as a real change to the renewal/charge date Google Play holds for that family's subscription - the next charge is simply moved forward by one month - not as a coupon, credit, refund, or any form of cash-equivalent value. It cannot be exchanged, transferred to another family, or redeemed for anything other than a subscription extension.
The referee's benefit will generally be applied immediately once a valid code is redeemed, or as soon as reasonably possible in the event of issues with the Google Play billing platform. The referrer's benefit is applied automatically once the referrer's own subscription is within 31 days of its next renewal - not immediately when the code is redeemed. Because of this, there may be a delay between a referee redeeming the referrer's code and the referrer receiving their own benefit. A referrer can see how many of their referral benefits are still waiting to be applied, and a referee can see whether their own benefit is still waiting to be applied, on the Referrals screen in the ScreenTasker app.
If a referrer's family is deleted while any of its referral benefits are still waiting to be applied, those benefits are lost. They do not carry over to a new family created afterwards, even by the same person.
From time to time we may make special promo codes available. A promo code is entered in the same place as a referral code and counts as the family's one code redemption, so a family cannot redeem both a promo code and a referral code. Each promo code's benefit and any expiry date or limit on the number of times it can be used are set when the code is issued, and a promo code that has expired or reached its use limit cannot be redeemed.
If we reasonably believe any form of abuse has taken place in connection with the referral program - for example, the same device being used to purchase subscriptions for multiple families in an attempt to claim the referee benefit more than once, or any other abuse we identify by other means - we may hold or withhold a referral benefit before it is applied. A redemption that is denied because abuse was detected still counts as that family's one code redemption, so detected abuse may also block any future redemption attempts by that family.
A referral benefit that has already been applied cannot be reversed. Because the benefit is delivered as a real, direct change to a subscription's Google Play renewal date, once that change has been made it is not technically possible for us to undo it. For this reason, our abuse checks are designed to run, and to deny a benefit where appropriate, before it is ever applied.
To operate the referral program and detect and prevent abuse of it, we retain: the referral codes families generate; records of when and by which family a code was redeemed; and an identifier of the device used to purchase a redeeming family's subscription (its Android ID), which we use to detect the same purchasing device being used to claim the referee benefit more than once. We retain this information for as long as reasonably necessary for abuse detection and prevention - it is not deleted as part of the ordinary family-account deletion process described in our Privacy Policy.
We may change, suspend, or withdraw the referral program at any time, at our discretion, including changing the benefit amount, eligibility rules, or entry window described above. Any such change applies only to referral codes generated or redeemed after the change takes effect - it does not affect a benefit that has already been applied, or a redemption that was already validly made before the change.
If you have questions about the referral program or believe a benefit was applied, withheld, or denied in error, email us at hello@screentasker.app or use the contact form.
